Day 1

Day 01: Cusco – Biking – Rafting – Santa Maria

Our adventure begins with a hotel pick-up at approximately 5:30 a.m., after which we head toward the Sacred Valley, passing beautiful towns such as Chinchero and Ollantaytambo, as well as stunning landscapes and snow-capped mountains that you will enjoy along the way.

During the tour, we will experience different microclimates and reach Abra Málaga (4,300 m.a.s.l.), the highest point of our adventure. From here, weather permitting, we will start our first adrenaline activity: biking downhill for approximately 3 hours (about 31 km).

Along the descent, you will witness a diverse landscape of mountains, tropical jungle, and changing microclimates. Depending on the time, we will make a brief 15-minute stop at the small archaeological site of Waman Marca to admire its architectural beauty. Afterward, we continue the adventure until we reach our hostel for lunch in Santa María (1,210 m.a.s.l.).

In the afternoon, around 2:00 p.m., our rafting adventure begins on the Urubamba River, where the rapids range from Class II to IV, offering excitement for all adventure lovers. After the rafting experience, return to the hostel to enjoy a refreshing natural bath and conclude the day with a delicious dinner.

Day 2

Day 02: Santa Maria – Santa Teresa – Cocalmayo Hot Spring

Breakfast is served at 6:30 a.m. Afterwards, we will begin a walk of approximately 5 hours, allowing us to be fully immersed in the tropical jungle. During the hike, we will climb small mountains and ravines, enjoy stunning views of tropical valleys, cross rivers, and discover a wide variety of local flora and fauna, including medicinal plants traditionally used by locals. You will also encounter exotic fruits such as mango, pineapple, papaya, avocado, as well as coffee and coca leaf plantations, which are still considered sacred today.

Along the way, we will walk a section of the original Inca Trail (1,758 m.a.s.l.), which was part of the Antisuyo, one of the four main roads of ancient Peru leading to the jungle. From this trail, you can also admire the snow-capped Salkantay (6,270 m.a.s.l.), a breathtaking sight of the Andes.

After the hike, enjoy lunch at a local family restaurant. Then, we continue the walk to Santa Teresa, where you can relax in the Cocalmayo hot springs.

In the evening, enjoy dinner and rest, or optionally, visit a local bar to taste some traditional drinks and socialize with fellow travelers.

Day 3

Day 03: Santa Teresa – Zipline – Aguas Calientes Town

In the morning, experience an exhilarating zipline adventure, flying over the river at approximately 150 meters high. Afterwards, enjoy breakfast before we take transportation to Hidroelectrica train station, where you will have lunch.

Next, begin a 3-hour hike along the train tracks (10 km) until reaching the town of Machu Picchu.

Optional (subject to availability): You may take the train from Hidroelectrica to Machu Picchu instead of walking for $38, which must be arranged in advance with your guide that same day.

Once in Machu Picchu, check in at our hostel and enjoy dinner, preparing for your adventure in the ancient citadel the following day.

Day 4

Day 04: Machu Picchu Guided Tour – Hidroeléctrica – Return to Cusco

We wake up very early at 4:00 a.m. to have breakfast and prepare for the ascent to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, which takes approximately one hour.

Optional: You may purchase bus tickets to go up for $12 instead of walking, with prior coordination with our guide.

Next, enter Machu Picchu in the morning for a guided tour of 2 to 2.5 hours, visiting the most important sites, including the Main Square, Temple of the Sun, Intihuatana, Agricultural Terraces, Temple of the Three Windows, and more.

After the visit, descend for about one hour to reconnect with the path to Hidroelectrica, followed by approximately 2.5 hours of walking, in order to reach our transport back to Cusco, arriving around 9:30 p.m. at the Main Square.

Optional: Climb to Hayna Picchu Mountain:
If you wish to climb Wayna Picchu Mountain, you must purchase a special ticket for Hayna Picchu (USD 65.00 Additional Cost). Due to 2022 regulations by the Ministry of Culture, visit circuits have been modified to reduce crowds, so this option requires careful timing.

In this case, it is highly recommended to purchase a return train ticket from Machu Picchu to Ollantaytambo (USD 95.00). Without the train, there will not be enough time to return to Hidroelectrica for transport back to Cusco, since the climb and descent of Wayna Picchu take at least 3 hours.

If you choose this option, we will organize your return transportation from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.
