Overview
Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley of the Incas is a two-day itinerary that combines adventure and culture.
On the first day, explore the Sacred Valley and visit the archaeological sites of Chinchero and Moray, as well as the Salt Mines of Maras. Then, enjoy a delicious buffet lunch in Urubamba and end the day at the fortress of Ollantaytambo From there, take the train to the town of Aguas Calientes.
On the second day, visit Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
Day 1
Day 01: The Sacred Valley Guided Tour – Aguas Calientes Town
The Sacred Valley group tour begins with hotel pick-up at 6:30 a.m. in our comfortable minivan.
First, visit the traditional textile center of Chinchero, where you will learn about the alpaca wool dyeing process and see how sweaters, chullos, and other garments are woven and spun by hand by local artisan women using ancestral techniques.
Afterward, continue to the archaeological site of Chinchero to explore its Inca ruins and scenic views.
Next, visit the Moray Archaeological Site, where you can observe the unique circular agricultural terraces built with remarkable engineering skill by the Incas.
Then, continue to the Salt Mines of Maras, home to more than 3,000 salt pools.
Today, salt remains the main source of income for the people of Maras.
After the visit, travel to the town of Urubamba to enjoy an authentic buffet lunch at our restaurant.
Later, visit the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, an important administrative, religious, and military center where the Incas fought against the Spanish.
At the end of the Ollantaytambo tour, our guide will show you how to walk to the train station, located about a 7-minute walk away, for your journey to Aguas Calientes, while we return to Cusco.
At the station, you will have time to relax before boarding. Finally, the train staff will assist with the boarding process. Train departure is scheduled for 3:37 p.m. or 4:36 p.m., depending on availability.
Later, upon arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes, our staff will be waiting to transfer you to your 3-star category hotel.
In the evening, with prior coordination, our guide will visit you at the hotel to provide information and finalize the arrangements for your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.
Day 2
Day 02: Machu Picchu Guided Tour – Return to Cusco
In the morning, you will take the bus on your own up to Machu Picchu. At the entrance, our professional guide will be waiting for you. During the guided tour, enjoy approximately 2 to 2.5 hours exploring the most important areas of the citadel, including the Main Plaza, Intihuatana, Royal Sector, Temple of the Three Windows, and the agricultural and urban sectors.
After the visit, return by bus on your own to Aguas Calientes, where you will have free time to enjoy lunch on your own (not included).
Later, board the return train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo at 3:20 p.m. or 4:22 p.m., depending on availability.
Alternatively, you may choose a later train departure at 7:00 p.m. if you wish to relax in the thermo-medicinal hot springs, located about a 10-minute walk from town.
Upon arrival at the Ollantaytambo train station, our transportation will be waiting to transfer you back to Cusco. Finally, the service ends near the main square, where you can enjoy dinner on your own (not included).

If you like to apply for the student price you need to comply with the next requirements Peruvian regulation for students. If you are a student, you need to send us a copy or picture of both side of your STUDENT CARD also a picture or photo of your PASSPORT in order to verify, to get discount. The student card must be an original student ID gives from the university in PVC material, and it must have the next requirements printed on it: University information, personal student information, student picture, and expiration date valid only for one year, it year must coincide with the year that student visit Machupicchu, the discount until 25 years old. ISIC cards are not valid for the discount.
