Overview
Lake Titicaca in Puno is considered the highest and navigable in the world and it keeps in its cold blue waters the identity and history of a country that remain alive to this day. Cradle of impressive natural landscapes and famous legends such as the birth of the Inca Empire, starring the sons of the Sun God, Manco Capac and Mama Ocllo, who emerged from the depths of the water.
A mystical and millenary destination that has an area of 8,562 km², located at an altitude of 3,812 m.s.n.m. and with a maximum depth of 281 meters. With impressive islands inhabited by traditional settlers who transmit their history and tradition, through rural and experiential tourism.
Day 1
Day 01: Uros – Taquile Island
The first day our service includes the pick up service from the bus station in the city of Puno and then we will take you directly to our office or hotel in case you have already booked one in the city of Puno, later, once coordinated the pick up for the second time, we will go directly to Lake Titicaca to board our motor boat and start our adventure on the highest lake in the world.
Very important:
For the airport pick-up from the city of Juliaca there will be a previous coordination with days in advance and it has an additional price, since the distance from the city of Juliaca to the city of Puno lasts almost an hour and a half, and the schedules of flights to Juliaca from any other city in Peru have different schedules depending on the airline company.
Once we board the ship, our first visit to the floating islands will be the island of Uros, the guide will explain about the construction, the customs of the inhabitants of this island, after the free time, we will sail in the same boat to the second island, Taquile¡
Once in the port of the island, we will make a walk of approximately 40 minutes until we reach the main square of Taqulie, where the visitor can observe the landscape with a wonderful view over Lake Titicaca and the Andes that are part of Bolivia, you will also see how the inhabitants of the island preserve the traditions and mainly the fabrics, the wool hats, etc.
Typical lunch on the island, then we return to our boat where we wait to return to Puno, once in the port of Puno and, finally, the transfer to your hotel or our office in case you leave some suitcases or backpacks that arrive at the city as 17:00 pm and end of our service.
