Day 1

Day 01: Chinchero – Moray – Salineras – Ollantaytambo – Pisaq Guided Tour

The tour begins with hotel pick-up at 6:30 a.m. in our comfortable mini-van. Our first stop is the artisanal textile center in Chinchero, where you can see how alpaca wool is dyed and handwoven into traditional sweaters, chullos, and more. These crafts are made entirely by local artisan women, preserving generations of knowledge.

Next, we visit the archaeological site of Chinchero, where you can explore the Inca terraces and colonial influences. From there, we continue to Moray, an impressive agricultural center with circular terraces built by Inca engineers to experiment with different crop-growing techniques.

After Moray, we head to the Salineras de Maras (salt mines), where you can admire over 3,000 salt ponds carved into the mountainside. These salt wells are still in use today and remain a vital source of income for the local community.

Next, we travel to Urubamba for a traditional local buffet lunch, before continuing to Ollantaytambo, an important archaeological site known for its role as a military, religious, and administrative center during the Inca Empire.

If you are taking the train to Aguas Calientes, we will drop you off near the train station or the main square, depending on your schedule. On the way back to Cusco, we will stop at Pisaq, exploring its archaeological site and bustling market.

The tour concludes with arrival back in Cusco around 7:00 p.m., where we drop you off near the main square.
