Day 1
Day 01: Puerto Maldonado – Monkey Island – Night Activity
We will pick you up from the bus station or Airport at Puerto Maldonado and will transfer you to our office, we will then drive you in our transport to the boat pier, here we will take you by boat to travel down the Madre de Dios river to arrive at our lodge, then a refreshing fruit juice drink in our lodge.
We will set you up in your room, a quick rest, after we will start our tour going to walk in the jungle where we will get the lush vegetation (Some trees are 500 years old), birds such as parrots, toucans, macaws, monkeys, snakes, and a variety of insects like butterflies.
Return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, we visit the “Monkey Island”, here you will see a great diversity of monkeys such as Capuchin, Tamarins and Squirrel monkeys are frequent here, some of them comes closer to us and even you can feed them¡
At night we go for caiman search, they are generally on the banks of Madre de Dios River. This time you will need to bring a flashlight. With luck we may see the capybara, the world’s largest rodent that can weigh 60 kilos, an impressive family of the Peruvian Cuy; back to the lodge, dinner and night at the lodge.
Day 2
Day 02: Sandoval lake (Full Exploring) – Night Walk
After breakfast, we will do a short boat ride to the entrance of the Sandoval lake, after checking at the checkpoint we will walk 3 kilometers (2 miles aprox.) to the Lake Sandoval (piranha habitat) , one of the largest in the Tambopata National Reserve.
After the nice walk the guide will get a rowing boat where we will have our navigation on the lake to appreciate many different birds and monkeys Species (Hoatzin cormorant Jacanas, puma heron, eagles, howler monkey, squirrel monkey, black capuchin, tamarins and sloths)
Maybe we will meet with the family of giant river otters (almost two meters long). They are in danger of extinction and the largest alligator recorded is over 4 meters long.
After exploring the lake we will have lunch on the lake shore or at our lodge, optionally you can take a refreshing dip in the lake because the weather is very hot.
In the afternoon we will visit a native family where we will have the opportunity to learn hunting skills, basket weaving with jungle leaves and more.
In the evening after dinner, we will take a night walk where we will be able to appreciate the diversity of insects, amphibians, reptiles and other nocturnal animals.

Day 3
Day 03: An adventurous day
Morning in the jungle. The canopy Walk-Way, will let us see the rainforest from a different perspective, at about 30 meters high, the bridges will allow us to appreciate nature from a high altitude, we will have a panoramic view of the Rio Madre de Dios. From platforms you can observe different species of birds such as toucans, macaws, tanagers, orioles and much more, this will be a wonderful experience. After breakfast we prepare for an activity full of adrenaline on the trees at more than 30 meters high. We will do the zip-line, for this activity will have an instructor guide, who will give as a talk about how to use the safety harness during the Zip-line activity, feeling the rush of gliding through the trees, the experience will be forever with you, there is two cables than support more than 3 tones, back to the Lodge.- Lunch and rest.
In the afternoon the challenge is to cross the Madre de Dios River kayaking, on the way we can appreciate the fascinating sunset. Then we can do artisanal fishing in the Madre de Dios River, with a little patience we will see some fish species such as catfish.
Day 4
Day 04: Parakeet Clay Lick – Back to Puerto Maldonado
On our fourth day of our Tambopata Tour we will start early in the morning at 04:00 a.m. where you will embark on a one and a half hour boat trip to see the parakeet clay lick, and during this trip you will observe some animals and birds on the river bank, and once you get here, we will appreciate a spectacular demonstration of dozens of them.
Once finished this experience you will return to our lodge for breakfast around 07:00 a.m.
We then venture along the river banks to do some fishing and try to catch some local fish and maybe with a bit of luck some piranhas.
After lunch, we will check out of the lodge and take the boat back to Puerto Maldonado, and our staff will pick us up at the boat dock and take us to the airport or bus terminal with a stop at our office.
