Day 1
Day 01: Mollepata – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake Guide Tour
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel or hostel at 4:30 a.m., and we’ll begin a 2-hour drive to the town of Mollepata. Upon arrival, we’ll stop for breakfast, where you’ll also have time to purchase snacks such as fruit, water, or other personal items.
After breakfast, we’ll continue with an additional 1-hour drive to Soraypampa, the starting point of our hike. Along the way, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding Andes, including the impressive snow-capped peaks of Salkantay (6,230 m / 20,440 ft) and Humantay (5,250 m / 17,224 ft).
Once we arrive in Soraypampa, we’ll prepare for the hike to Humantay Lake, which takes approximately 1 hour over a 3 km (1.9 miles) uphill trail. Although the path is steep, our guide will set a slow and steady pace, allowing everyone to enjoy the scenery and reach the lake comfortably while adapting to the altitude.

After enjoying Humantay Lake, we’ll begin the easy downhill hike back to Soraypampa, which takes about 1 hour. Then, we’ll board our private transportation and return to Mollepata, where a delicious local buffet lunch will be waiting for you.
Finally, after lunch, we’ll drive back to Cusco, arriving between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m., with drop-off near the Main Square (Plaza de Armas).
