Overview
The Rainbow mountain, also known as Vinicunca, is a natural geological formation where its slopes and summits are made up of different shades, the product of various combinations of minerals, such as red, green, yellow, purple, pink, among other colors.
This attraction was covered with ice and as a result of global warming, it is currently completely uncovered and since 2016 it receives hundreds of visitors a day, becoming, together with Machupicchu, one of the destinations with the most tourist influx.
Day 1
Day 01: Cusco – Cusipata – Rainbow Mountain
Mountain of seven colors, begins with the pick up in our transport from your hotel between 4:00 am. to 5:00 am. depending where you are staying, then a trip of approximately 2 hours to reach the town of Cusipata, where we will enjoy our light breakfast.
After breakfast, we will continue with our trip by land until we reach the Wasipata hiking point (4625.00 m.a.s.l.) arriving approximately 9:00 a.m. During our tour, we will delight ourselves with a very beautiful landscape of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain (6,385 m.s.n.m. / 20,945 feet), small groups of alpacas and llamas, flora and fauna.
After a walk of approximately 1:30 hours, we finally reach our destination, the top of the Mountain of the Seven Colors (5,200 m.a.s.l. / 16,466 feet), arriving at approximately 10:30 a.m., after a guided tour and overcoming the impact of its beauty, you will have time to explore the area, where you will take incredible photos of the place, as well as the red valley located behind the Rainbow Mountain. We will spend approximately 01 hour on the top depending the weather condition.

At the end of our visit to the mountain of seven colors, we will start our return journey for approximately 1:00 hour down to reach our transport, and then a return trip until we reach our restaurant in the town of Cusipata, and enjoy our buffet lunch, arriving at approximately 14:00 p.m. (It is recommended to bring snacks for the return trip such as chocolates, fruits, water…)
After our buffet lunch, we return to Cusco and drop you off near the main square, arriving between 16:00 pm. to 17:30 pm.
